A. Sending out a piercing call
B. Performing a ritual dance
That's Correct!
It's Wrong!

When Japanese cranes mate, males indicate their desire to do so by performing a ritual dance. They leap up and down and stretch out their wings. They may also bow their heads. Sometimes the females also dance.

On the other hand, calling doesn’t seem to play a part in the mating process for Japanese cranes. The mates, however, can reinforce their bond to each other by loud “unison” calls which can be heard for up to several miles away.
